The Department of Physics is one of the prominent departments of the college. The department is a pioneer in imparting Science Education in the concerned area.
Laboratory Facilities
The department of Physics of the college is assisted by the Department of Science and Technology, Govt. of India and RUSA. The department has one laboratory for H.S. course, while for degree course it has following four laboratories-
- Computer Laboratory
- Electronics Laboratory
- Dark Room
- Semi Dark Room Laboratory
- General Laboratory
Some of the sophisticated instruments of Physics laboratory include digital storage Oscilloscope, Dual input 4-trace CRO, Function generators, High Precision digital balance, Michelson Interferometer, Platinum Resistance thermometer, Spectrometer, Bi-Prism setup, Hysteresis loop tracer, Diode laser, Callender and Berns setup, e/m apparatus etc.
To impart audio visual teaching-learning, the department has desktop, laptops, Overhead Projector and LCD Projector. The department has a well equipped library with more than 550 titles in its possession, which is specially used by the Honours students.
